Jackson Harrison - Throwing lightIn 2008 I spent a day with one of the finest pianos in Sydney, and made this record.
After listening back to the music, I was not sure it should be released. I felt it was too personal, and mostly an exploration of touch, textures and tone colours with which I feel an intuitive connection. But I have since come to see that it also offers a view into a particular sound-world, a mysterious and melodious one which I enjoy.
The music is all original, and largely improvised, the exception being Mike Nock’s Land of the Long White Cloud, my favourite track on the CD.
