He's brilliant, subtle, eclectic, he's long been one of Australia's greatest guitarists and in recent years he's won serious admiration in Brazil. Doug de Vries has made many records, but the very beautiful DdV Solo is the first on which he is alone and unamplified, throughout.

The album is in part the fruit of an unfinished project which saw Doug attempt to write a new composition every day, through an entire year. DdV Solo presents 9 of 181 days' worth, plus 6 cuts on which Doug lovingly interprets some of his favourite (not over-familiar) Brazilian pieces.
