Janet Seidel - Far away places
popular jazz vocalist Janet Seidel takes the listener on a personal
trip with every song and her quietly achieved renown has been largely
due to her way of interpreting a song.
Sydney based Janet Seidel Trio has a new CD - "Far Away Places" - their take on a theme prompted by the title track, a
1940s hit song evoking the yearning to be whisked away to another time
notion of musical wanderlust was ever a romantic one and possibly never
more so than in early stages of the age of international travel. The
mere glimpse of a bongo, a ukelele, a palm tree, was enough to visualise

so with the Trio's natural bent for finding a fresh sound within a
retro style, the repertoire takes in a mix of vintage songs, old school
world music if you like, and songs that dreamily transport the listener
to another headspace.
a minimalist approach to a nostalgic journey featuring Janet's unique
and personal vocals, touches of piano and rich acoustic guitar / ukulele
and double bass from Chuck Morgan and David Seidel respectively.
The album features guest appearances from Paul Furniss, Ben Jones, Bob Henderson, Fabian Hevia, Hamish Stuart and Mitchell Morgan
