Tenor saxophonist Akira Miyazawa is one of the musicians who laid the foundations of the Japanese jazz scene.

“We are Japanese, so I think we have to create something that only Japanese people can do,” said Miyazawa. He continues to release works that deeply pursue the identity of the Japanese people. Among them, this work "Iwana", which was performed with Masahiko Sato (piano), Yasuo Arakawa (bass), and Masahiko Togashi (drums), who were the most radical piano trio at the time, is truly the height of "Japanese jazz", and it is unparalleled.
