Fiorenzo Carpi was a decisive figure in the Italian landscape, together with Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and Piero Piccioni, all acclaimed composers of soundtracks of famous Italian films around the world. The serial Pinocchio, directed by Luigi Comencini certainly marked an era thanks to the strength of the music composed on that occasion by Fiorenzo Carpi.

Antonio Zambrini, in turn, a central figure as composer in the actual Italian panorama of the last few years proposes this new project, in piano-trio, rearranging part of these pieces, adding others always belonging to Carpi's repertoire and composing one (Giovedì) inspired by the saga itself. In this circumstance Zambrini ha chosen , as collaborators, of two absolute champions of North-European jazz, Jesper Bodilsen and Martin Andersen to add an interpretative note freer and perhaps unpredictable thanks the sensitivity of two non-Italians great musicians.
In the repertoire you could recognize a certainly mediterranean sound but also a sycncopated ''american'' acoustic sound (the ''Pinocchio'' songs), traces of some british Rock music from the late 60's (''Moby Dick''), but also the pastoral style of ''Il prete bello'', the intimate harmonic conception of ''Incompreso''. With ''Notte Italiana'' a brasilian Choro's approach.. as a matter of fact, Italian Opera was among various elements that led to Choro's birth in Rio De Janeiro, in early 20th Century. Overall, an artistic project of considerable power.
