For years, rumours circulated about this recording of pianist Dave Burrell and drummer Sam Woodyard, made in August 1979 in Paris. A cover for an album appeared on the Horo Records website, but it turned out to be just a tantalising glimpse of an LP that never was issued. The whereabouts of the master tape was a mystery; perhaps it didn’t exist anymore. But here at last is the long lost album, made from a cassette dub of the master tape that was squirrelled away in Burrell’s personal collection for decades. Burrell and his wife, poet Monika Larsson, tell the remarkable story of the recording elsewhere in the notes.
