Harupi - Eureka Moment

Kamakura-based pianist and composer harupii has released her third album, *eureka moment* — her first full album in approximately four years. The album features eight tracks that transcend the boundaries of instrumental music, painting vivid scenes in the listener's imagination with melodies that leave a deep impression, all set against a backdrop of fluid, shifting time signatures.

As the title suggests, the album’s theme is the "moment of discovery."
Marking her eighth year of activity, harupii presents an ambitious work that further deepens her musical roots in ambient jazz and jazz-rock.

Lead Track "eureka":
This track evokes the season of transition from winter to spring—a vital period of preparation for plants to sprout new life. It carries a message of total affirmation for who you are right now: "You are worthy of love just as you are, even without achieving anything." The album showcases a remarkably multifaceted musical style, ranging from the ballad "lily of the valley"—imbued with a crisp stillness and a sense of transparency—to the emotional jazz-rock track "emergence," which depicts inner conflict and the process of metamorphosis. Her creative process is guided by a unique aesthetic, drawing inspiration from sources such as the literature of Osamu Dazai. Throughout the album, she brilliantly demonstrates her signature strength: crafting catchy, resonant melodies that flow seamlessly over constantly changing time signatures.
