This is the first studio recording by pianist Hatsune Hirakura, who burst onto the Japanese jazz scene like a comet. Having just graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020, Hirakura is already universally recognized as a first-class player. On this album, she collaborates with two maestros, Atsushi Ikeda (alto saxophone) and Yosuke Inoue (bass), who are old enough to be father and son, to tackle pre-war American standards. With her youthful sensibility and exceptional expressiveness, she delves into these standards with her own unique interpretation.
