Joëlle Léandre & Evan Parker - Long Bright Summer

Long Bright Summer documents the meeting of two giants of European improvised music: saxophonist Evan Parker and bassist Joëlle Léandre. Recorded live in August 2023 at Le Chaix du domaine “Les Davids” in Viens, France, during the festival “Les Estivales du Haut Calavon,” the album captures their fearless dialogue in eight extended improvisations.

With Parker on soprano and tenor saxophones and Léandre on double bass, the duo embraces risk, spontaneity, and collective creation.
