Guitarist John Scofield and bassist Dave Holland, two of the contemporary masters of jazz, have played together in different contexts over the years – including projects with Herbie Hancock and Joe Henderson, as well as an energetic group with Joe Lovano and Al Foster. Memories of Home is now their first duo album, recorded last year after extensive tours at NRS Studios in Catskill, New York. John Scofield: “The record, just like our live shows, contains pieces that each of us has composed, some new, some old. We share decades of shared musical reference points. The similarities and differences in our approaches make the cooperation, I think, all the more exciting.” The album features Scofield's songs "Icons at the Fair," "Meant to Be," "Mine Are Blues," "Memorette" and "Easy for You," and Holland's "Mr. B, Not for Nothin, You I Love and Memories of Home."
