Labi Siffre burst onto the UK's blossoming singer-songwriter scene with his debut album in 1970, alongside contemporaries like Elton John, Bill Fay and Mike D'Abo. Featuring early hit "Make My Day" and "A Little More Line", the album was arranged and produced by Ian Green, noted 60s hit arranger.

The full-length Labi Siffre marked the singer/songwriter's debut in 1970. Producer and arranger Ian Green dressed much of the material with enough strings, woodwinds, brass, and additional ornamentation to make the album Baroque pop-adjacent. While Siffre played six- and 12-string acoustic guitars and had performed at folk clubs, he wasn't a folk artist, either, as he cited vanguard blues and legends like Jimmy Reed, Wes Montgomery, and Billie Holiday, and top-flight songwriters such as Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Randy Newman, and Laura Nyro. Moreover, personalized covers of Harry Nilsson's "Maybe" and Bee Gees' "Words" fell into place with Siffre's ten originals.

This half-speed master edition is presented in it's original sleeve, pressed on 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl, featuring an obi strip, and housed in a poly-lined inner sleeve, with all the lyrics and credits on a new 4-page insert, as well as annotation by Alan Robinson based on a 2015 interview with Labi Siffre himself.
