This album captures a beautiful yet thrilling musical dialogue between Miki Hirose—one of Japan’s premier trumpeters—and Mayuko Katakura, a "first-call" pianist held in high regard by countless musicians. The recording took place in the studio of Taro Okamoto, preserved at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum in Minami-Aoyama. The piano used for the session was a century-old upright model that Okamoto himself cherished. Within this unique artistic space, still imbued with the spirit of Taro Okamoto, these two top-tier musicians create a soundscape charged with momentum and tension.
