This is an unreleased live recording of a electrifying performance by the late Motohiko Hino, one of Japan's leading drummers and a figure etched in jazz history, from May 1976. This is a treasured recording from the legendary jazz label Three Blind Mice, which was at the heart of the Japanese jazz scene at the time. Recorded three months after the performance on the acclaimed album "Drifting Ice" (Ryuhyo), recorded in Nemuro, Hokkaido, this performance features a sextet lineup including Yuji Imamura, adding to the members of the album's recording team. The title track is an unreleased composition written by Motohiko Hino himself.

Under the supervision of Takeshi Fujii, who headed Three Blind Mice, the recording was digitized from the remaining 2-inch master tapes. The trackdown was handled by Yoshihiko Kannari, the "guardian of the TBM sound," who also worked on this live recording. The TBM sound from half a century ago is faithfully reproduced.

Please enjoy this treasured recording from the 1970s, the peak of Japanese jazz.
