Guitarist Mundell Lowe, who recorded regularly as a leader during 1954-62, had not had his own record date for over a decade when he cut this now-obscure album for the Famous Door label. The three selections from 1972 (two standards and "Famous Door Blues") match the swing-oriented Lowe with the rhythm guitar of Irving Ashby, pianist Jimmy Rowles, bassist Monty Budwig and drummer Donald Bailey; the other four numbers ("Open House at Arleen's" and three veteran songs) feature Lowe in a quartet with pianist Roger Kellaway, Budwig and Bailey.
