Derek Pascoe - saxophone
Chris Martin - piano
HERE COMES EVERYTHING is the staggeringly ambitious debut release form Port Adelaide's Pascoe & Martin - conceived in response to James Joyce's 18-part schema for his seminal novel Ulysses, and realised as an 18-album cycle.
Pascoe & Martin are Australian musicians Derek Pascoe, saxophone, and Chris Martin, piano. They've been honing their craft as an improvising duo for 25 years without releasing a record - until now. HERE COMES EVERYTHING represents them at the peak of their musical powers, with a quarter-century of collaborative history to be heard in every spontaneous note of their music. Pascoe and Martin are profoundly different musical personalities, and at the core of HERE COMES EVERYTHING is their ongoing real-life search for each other through music, in parallel to Bloom and Dedalus in Joyce's Ulysses.
Although Pascoe & Martin's musical partnership has been 25 years in the making, the sound of HERE COMES EVERYTHING is entirely in the moment. Each of its 18 albums features a single improvised track between 40 and 70 minutes long, recorded in a single take with no rehearsal and no edits - each bearing the name of one of the 18 chapters of Ulysses.
Years in the making, yetentirely and thrillingly in the moment, De la Catessen Records presents Here Comes Everything in an edition of just 300 copies. Lavishly illustrated by Michael Hocking with drawings taken from life during 18 recording sessions,
Here Comes Everything is not to be missed.
