The Mediterranean lightness of being has undoubtedly always been the hallmark of Quadro Nuevo’s music: Italian tangos, French waltzes, mythical Aegean melodies, daring driving songs along a sunlit coastal road, oriental impressions, Brazilian flavours and Neapolitan hits.

“We turn again,” explains saxophonist Mulo Francel, “to the Mediterranean art of music making in MARE, which has remained a central characteristic of our band since our debut album Luna Rossa”

Quadro Nuevo is a German acoustic quartet which was founded in 1996 and can be categorized as world music and jazz. The band is composed of Robert Wolf (1996–2008), Mulo Francel, D.D. Lowka, Andreas Hinterseher (original Heinz-Ludger Jeromine) and since 2008 Evelyn Huber.
