Ray Charles - Ray Charles Live In Concert The Complete Performance

2026

Originally released in 1965, Live in Concert captured Ray Charles working over an adoring LA crowd at the Shrine Auditorium. It was an immediate hit, landing in the R&B Top Ten and giving fans a taste of the show he'd been honing on stages around the world. Surrounded by the finest musicians of the era, Ray Charles showcased his singular ability to turn any song, no matter where or when it came from, into something universally and uniquely soulful.

But essential as Live in Concert was, it literally told half the story. With more than a half-hour of his set cut to fit on a single LP, the album only teased what went down that night at the Shrine. The full performance — including stunning reinventions of "Georgia on My Mind" and "Busted" — went unreleased for 45 years until it was finally, and briefly, released on CD in 2011.

Newly remastered - essential.
