Red Rodney was a veteran jazz trumpet player who played with Charlie Parker. Ira Sullivan who plays trumpet and sax, is also a jazz veteran. In 1981 they got together and recorded two great albums for the Elektra/Musician label, Spirit Within and Sprint. This fine quintet also features Garry Dial, Jay Anderson and Jeff Hirschfield.
