Sam Most - From The Attic of My Mind

Flutist Sam Most contributed eight of the compositions to this enjoyable quintet date. With tasteful support from pianist Kenny Barron, bassist George Mraz, drummer Walter Bolden and percussionist Warren Smith, Most could have easily taken the laidback approach often favored by flutists, but instead he digs in and comes up with some fiery statements. None of the originals (which includes blues, ballads and blowing devices) caught on elsewhere, but they work well on this set. AllMusicGuide
