Sami Swoi is a hip Polish 12 piece ensemble led by trumpeter Julian Kurzawa.

The album's a live one the first track – a 19 minute "Blues Medley" that includes snippets of compositions by Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, Wayne Shorter, Nat Adderley, and Eddie Harris – all spun out into this great ensemble piece that has each member soaring out with a solo.

The second half of the album has 4 shorter tracks, but still worked magically by the group – with this mixture of ensemble energy and solo voice that's a bit like some of the MPS large group sessions from a decade before.
