Jazz connoisseurs know: Bean And The Boys alludes to the granddaddy of jazz tenor saxophone, Coleman "Bean" Hawkins.
In this incarnation Scott Hamilton is on tenor saxophone, considered by many as the legitimate successor of the great Hawkins. Paolo Birro is a classically trained pianist who as a jazz musician accompanied many jazz giants. On drums is Alfred Kramer. The album is all Coleman Hawkins songs except for one written with Thelonious Monk and a version of "Body and Soul" written by Johnny Green.
