UK two CD set containing a pair of Thad Jones & Mel Lewis albums, both dating from 1969. Both albums feature, among others, former Count Basie sideman Snooky Young on trumpet, Jimmy Knepper on trombone and Jerome Richardson on saxophone. Monday Night is a live session from the band's regular Monday night gig at New York's Village Vanguard jazz club. Central Park North was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1969 in the Best Instrumental Jazz Performance - Large Group category.
