When guitarist Attila Zoller returned from the U.S. for a brief visit to Europe, longtime collaborator Hans Koller knew the moment called for something new. Instead of revisiting their classic sax-guitar-rhythm-section format, he envisioned a fresh trio encounter, completed by French piano innovator Martial Solal, whom he had first met during the 1961 European All Stars recordings. What unfolded in the studio was a musical conversation of rare depth.
