2026
A masterpiece recorded in 1976 featuring an all-star lineup—including Sam Jones, Kazumi Watanabe, and Fumio Karashima—where the artist delivers expansive cello solos. Highlights include a thrilling duet with the seasoned bassist Sam Jones and the hip guitar work of Kazumi Watanabe, who takes solos throughout the album.
East Wind was a groundbreaking jazz label established in 1974 through a full-scale partnership between Ai Music and Nippon Phonogram (as they were known at the time). Over a period of about five years, the label produced albums featuring not only Japanese musicians like Masabumi Kikuchi, Sadao Watanabe, and Terumasa Hino, but also artists who were driving creative activity in the global jazz scene. Beyond the musical quality, the artwork—created by top designers and photographers—offered a fresh aesthetic that revolutionized the image of jazz albums and exerted a significant influence on future record production.
